Visual Communications Connecting the Planet
SCARLET is a collective of creative activists in Totnes, Devon. Established in 1995, we’re among the UK’s most innovative design agencies – specialising in environmental and science communication tools. The roster includes graphic designers, photographers, web developers, music composers, video editors and artists.
This specialism follows-on from years as design pioneers in London: creating memorable arts publicity for cultural and entertainment projects. However, in recent years we’ve evolved to create closer ties the world of research, which seems ever-more prescient, while still maintaining relationships with some interesting SMEs and local businesses
Global Perspective on Sustainability
Our visual communication skills have been proven to gain vital impact to international research studies, particularly with Earth and Environmental Sciences. Our infographics and whiteboard animations have been published internationally.
Recently UNESCO commissioned us for a series of communication tools. We created the presentation at The Royal Society for the Soil Security Programme – a five-year study into soil health. We co-designed and photographed a study of refugees settling into UK life.
Client Satisfaction
We’ve a heavy portfolio of iconic campaigns for our clients. Including: UNDP, UNESCO, UKRI, NERC, Brighton Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Festival, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Shakespeare’s Globe, Royal Court, Royal Society, RSC, The Magic Circle, Vivienne Westwood and many international universities.
Our Statement
The SCARLET team understands the value of culture and science as part of an integrated public service. As a society we need a committed platform to roll-out this heritage to all of the community within our lives. This is especially important to our younger generation: the challenges they face are a direct representation to our belief in a sustainable future.
We need to ensure that young people have a broad access to education, science, culture and heritage. Young people are our greatest resource – and we need to understand the challenges that they face – which mirror both our lives now – and in the future.
